As much as I hate to validate the people who had The Dirty Christian Facebook page shut down, I think that it actually turns out for the best. I had some time to stress out, worry and pray about what had happened. It turns out that The Dirty Christian had become a point of ego feeding for me. It didn’t take me long to realize that the loss of my large fanbase hurt, not the ministry of Christ, but the pride of Drew.
As backwards as it sounds, I think it is a good thing that The Dirty Christian page is gone. There was little learning happening, people came to the page expecting a fight. I felt an obligation to give them the arena to do so, and occasionally I would jump in with a few jabs of my own. It wasn’t conducive and it was headed in the wrong direction.
I am very grateful to God for this opportunity to start over again, building from the ground up. It may turn out to be a completely different experience. What I am most excited for is the continuation of helping others through their hard times, their porn addictions and so on.
So what do you need to do from here? Well, come to the new Facebook page which is titled after my name Drew Koehler, the page is here:
Tell your friends, if you knew they followed The Dirty Christian page, they can follow me here too.
I think that the use of the name The Dirty Christian as my identity maybe have given me a cushion to say more than I would have as just a person who cares about people. The Dirty Christian page will live on, the blogs, the podcast and my alter ego, but the ownership on the Facebook page will be directly tied to me.
Facebook may very well shut me down, and if that is the case so be it, but God will always get the glory.
Soli Deo Gloria
