Thank you for visiting The Dirty Christian. God does not hate you, in fact since the creation of time God has had a plan to redeem you and bring you into a relationship with Him.
This isn’t a plea to get you to go to church or to donate money to anything, this is simply the truth of the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ told through the amazing story of the Bible. If you have a Bible handy you can look these verses up yourself, or if you’d like you can just do an internet search with the verses and see what you find.
First, let’s go to Romans 3:23 – here it says “All have sinned and fall short of God’s glory”.
This verse is clear that no one is free from the torment and depravity of sin. From the day we were born we were infected with the disease of sin. It can be seen by just looking at young children who don’t know the difference between right and wrong. When confronted with getting into trouble, children will simply lie to keep themselves out of trouble. Still not convinced? Give 2 children 1 toy and see what happens. They will fight over that toy because selfishness is ingrained in their “human nature”.
Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ”.
Our incredibly Great Grandparents Adam and Eve disobeyed God and from that point on, sin passed from their genes to ours. Because sin is created by man, and not God, God and sin cannot coexist for eternity. So, that sin needs to be destroyed in order for us to spend eternity with our creator. The payment or what is earned from that sin is death, because sin cannot stick around with God.
Romans 5:8 – “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”
In order for God to be able to live in relationship with us, He had to rid us of sin, but since sin had to be destroyed, God chose to sacrifice Himself in Christ Jesus to be the payment for our sin. This payment was Jesus’ death on the cross. This death on the cross satisfies God’s requirement for remission of sin. Even though we were sinners, Jesus Christ chose to be the payment for that sin. So what now?
Romans 10:9 – “if you believe in your heart, Christ Jesus, and confess with your mouth that God has raised Him from the dead, you SHALL be saved”.
Those who believe in Jesus and what He did on the cross are saved. It’s simple and yet the most powerful thing someone can claim.
YOU SHALL BE SAVED
So what now? Well, the Bible tells us that baptism is the next step. Baptism is to represent your being buried with Christ and being risen from the water as He was risen from the dead. You should make every attempt to find a church to attend and learn from the Pastors and elders there. Not every church is the perfect fit for you, but there is one out there.
If you made the choice to believe in Jesus’ sacrifice for you and confess it, please consider sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
I’d love to hear from you and help you along your way in Christ by assisting in finding a church or praying for you.
God Bless You
